DIY: Fret Levelling and Crowning on Acoustic Guitar (Thomas Ginex Kit)
I tried to fix the dents on the frets of my guitar. I used the Thomas Ginex fret refinishing kit. I found out that when leveling the frets, the tool kit worked fine. However, when I tried to use the kit in fret crowning, the frets near the edge were not shaped properly. So, I used a needle file to shape the frets near the edge a little bit more.

Bridge Pins Comparison: Bone vs Plastic
This time I replaced the Ashton OM35S acoustic guitar's original plastic bridge pins with bone bridge pins. I played the guitar with the plastic bridge pins first. Then, after replacement with bone bridge pins, I played it again to compare the tone. Please watch my video to hear if there is any difference in sound before and after replacement the bridge pin.

Yamaha FG151B Vintage Acoustic Guitar Demo / Review
A short demo/review of a Vintage Yamaha acoustic guitar model FG-151B. This guitar was made by Nippon Gakki Co Ltd. in Japan in the late '70s. It has "orange label" attached inside the body. The sound is quite wonderful on this guitar. This is well maintained guitar as it has very little or negligible wear on it. I replaced the saddle with bone saddle since the old one was shaved too low by the previous owner. It is dreadnought shape with Ezo pine top and Mahogany back and sides, Nato neck, Rosewood fingerboard. The machine heads are also original with Yamaha Japan written on the cover. Guitar Nut Height Adjustment on Acoustic Guitar
In this video, I lowered the nut height or the string height on the first fret of my acoustic guitar. There are two ways to lower the string height on the 1st fret; 1. File the slots of the nut, 2. Shave the bottom of the nut. I did procedure number 2 in this video. Shaving the bottom will lower all slots at the same time but, make sure that all the slots are in good condition and with proper depth with respect to other slots. I did the shaving slow and just a little bit a time and tested every after shaving to make sure that the nut depth will not get lower than the 1st fret. After several tries, I was able to achieve the nut height that I wanted. After setting to the correct height, I used a wood glue to attach the nut to the guitar neck and let it settle for a while.

Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 Audio Interface Test (with guitar)
Testing for the first time my audio interface. This is Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22. In this demo, I tested only the instrument input where I plugged-in my guitar. Unfortunately, I still do not have a microphone to test the mic input. First, I recorded the sound of guitar using the standard built-in mic from camcorder, then I recorded again using this UMC22 Audio Interface via guitar Fishman Clearwave60 pickup. I used a free audio recording software called Audacity. I initially had a problem when there was no sound getting into the PC. So, I checked the Control Panel settings for Audio and set it to DVD quality stereo. After that, I was able to get signal from the R (right channel). As you can see in the recording software, it was only recording on 1 channel (R channel). The L (left channel) is for the microphone input. I then, edited the audio recording and made it mono so that I can hear the sound for both left and right channel. This is what you can hear in the video sample. Please check it out.

Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 Audio Interface Unboxing
I recently purchased Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 audio interface. This is USB powered interface with 2 input channels and 2 output channels. It has separate gain controls for 2 inputs and 1 gain control for direct monitor such as headphone. It has LED indicators for power, signal and clipping. 48 Volts Phantom Power is also available when needed. This is commonly used with professional condenser microphones. Here is my unboxing video. I will post another video next time when I hook this up to my PC and guitar. I still do not have microphone to test with. I hope to get studio quality recordings from this device.
