I Started A Joke (Bee Gees) Fingerstyle Guitar Cover

Here is a simple fingerstyle guitar cover and arrangement of the song "I Started A Joke" by The Bee Gees.  I used G-Em-C-D chord progression instead of G-Bm-C-D.  Let me know what you think.

"I Started a Joke" is a melancholic and introspective song by the Bee Gees, a British-Australian pop group known for their distinctive harmonies and prolific songwriting. Released in 1968 as a part of their album "Idea," the song quickly became one of their signature tracks.

The song's lyrics delve into themes of miscommunication and the unintended consequences of words spoken in jest. It tells the story of someone who, after making a lighthearted comment, realizes that their words have caused pain and misunderstanding. The haunting melody and Barry Gibb's emotive vocals add depth and poignancy to the narrative.

"I Started a Joke" showcases the Bee Gees' ability to blend their harmonious vocals with deep, introspective lyrics. The song's distinctive orchestration, featuring a prominent Mellotron, contributes to its haunting and evocative atmosphere.

Over the years, the song has been covered by numerous artists, including Faith No More and Wallflowers, demonstrating its enduring appeal. Its emotional resonance and thought-provoking lyrics continue to make it a beloved classic in the Bee Gees' extensive discography.
