Cordoba C5 Classic Guitar Review Demo

I showed here the Cordoba C5 Classic Guitar.  I restrung the guitar with D'Addario ProArte nylon strings.  Normally the guitar comes from the factory with Savarez strings.  This guitar has solid Canadian Cedar top,  Mahogany back and sides, Rosewood bridge and fingerboard.  It comes with bone saddle and nut.  The nut width is 52mm.  It has slotted headstock which is standard for classic guitar.  It has gold tuners.  The finish for this guitar is glossy whereas the Condoba C3 is matte finish.  Checkout the video and hear the sound.

How Am I Supposed To Live Without You (MIchael Bolton) Fingerstyle Guitar Cover

Here is my fingerstyle guitar cover of the famous song by Michale Bolton entitled "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You".  This song was originally sang by a female singer Laura Branigan.  The guitar I used in this video was Martin 000RSGT Road Series acoustic electric guitar.  I used Greg Bennett glider capo for this cover to shift key during the song.  Check it out. Here is a classic song that I played fingerstyle guitar.   The song is Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland.  This song was a OST of the movie Wizard of Oz.  The guitar I used in this video was Martin 000RSGT Road Series acoustic electric guitar.  The audio recorded using built-in guitar pickup, Fishman Sonitone.

Guitar Tips: How To Play Barre Chords

Another guitar tip video, this time I showed some tips on how to play barre chords.  Most beginners are having problems playing this.  My first tip is to have the guitar properly setup and easy to play.  The second is the position of the index finger.  It is a little bit twisted where in the bony part is touching the fretboard.  Also, the index fingers should be as close as possible to the fret.  More tips in the video, check it out.

Guitar Comparison: Nylon vs Steel Stringed Acoustic Guitars

Here is the comparison video between two types of acoustic guitars, the nylon stringed classical guitar and the steel stringed acoustic guitar.  Both guitars are considered acoustic as they both use the body as the main part to project the sound.  But these guitars differ in so many ways.  I compared the body shape, neck, structural construction, type of strings used, music to play and many more.  I also made sample demo on each guitar.  The guitar I used for this comparison are Cordoba C5 classic guitar and Martin 000RSGT Road Series acoustic guitar.

Here is a fingerstyle guitar cover of the song Immortal by Evanescence.  I used capo on the 2nd fret with G chord family being used.  The guitar I used in this video was Martin 000RSGT Road Series.

In this video I played fingerstyle guitar cover of the song "Akin Ka Na Lang" by Morisette Amon.  The guitar audio was recorded using external microphone Audio Technica AT2020 XRL connected to XLR input of Zoom Q8 video camera.  The guitar I used in this video was Martin 000RSGT Road Series acoustic guitar.

Guitar Tip: Action or String Height - Common Mistake on Guitar Setup

In this video I discussed about guitar action of string height on a guitar.  I also emphasized the common mistakes made by the guitarists when dealing with guitar action.  Some people, immediately shave the saddle in order to lower the action.  But in reality, they still need to check first the guitar neck if straight. Then secondly, check if the nut slot height is too high.  Checkout the video to see more.

Stringjoy Strings Review and Demo on Benavides Custom Guitar

I installed the Stringjoy strings natural bronze 12 gauge on Benavides custom guitar.  This guitar is made in New Zealand by David Benavides.  Here is the video demo to hear the tone of Stringjoy strings matching this guitar.  The strings are smooth to the fingers and have balanced tone.  Another thing is that these strings are designed to have balanced tension on all strings.

Here is our collaboration cover,  guitar and violin with Riya Jane Yulde.  This is a classic song by Chiqui Pineda entitled How Did You Know.  This song was also popularized by Gary Valenciano for OST of a Philippine movie All My Life..

Nung Tayo Pa (Janella Salvador) Fingerstyle Guitar Cover

Here is my fingerstyle guitar cover of the song Nung Tayo Pa by Janella Salvador (Himig Handog 2019 Entry). I used my Martin 000RSGT Road Series acoustic electric guitar in this video. The audio was recorded using external microphone, Audio Technica AT2020 XLR condenser microphone and output from guitar electronics, Fishman Sonitone pickup. When the song shifted key, I used a Glider Capo to move one the tune two frets higher.

Fender DG14SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar Demo Review

Here is my review of Fender DG14SCE acoustic electric guitar.  This guitar has a solid Spruce top and Maple back and sides, Rosewood bridge and fingerboard, diecast tuner, Nato neck. The body is dreadnought with cutaway design.  I restrung the guitar with Straight Up Strings light gauge Phosphor Bronze.

I recorded the audio of this guitar using external microphone as well as plugged-in using guitar built-in pickup, Fishman Classic4.  Checkout the video to hear the tone of this one.

Yamaha APX700 Acoustic Electric Guitar Review Demo

Here is my simple review and demo of Yamaha APX700 acoustic electric guitar. In this demo, I recorded the audio of the guitar using an external microphone as well as guitar's built-in electronics, the ART or Acoustic Resonance Transduer by Yamaha. Check out the video and hear the sound and difference between external microphone and buil-in guitar electronics.

Here is my simple fingerstyle guitar cover of the song by Michael Dutchi Libranda entitled Binalewala.  I used capo on the 1st fret for this cover.  This video was recorded using two cameras for different angles.  The microphone used was Audio Technica AT2020 condenser XRL microphone which I connect directly to Zoom Q8 video camera.

A classic Pinoy Rock by Juan dela Cruz Band, here is my fingerstyle guitar cover of the song "Ang Himig Natin".  The guitar I used in this video was Taylor GS Mini Mahogany.   I used capo on the 4th fret with open string at 6th string for the bass E note.

Moon River (Henry Mancini) Two Acoustic Guitars Cover

Audio Technica AT2020 vs AKG P170 Microphones Comparison on Acoustic Guitar

I compared the two microphones, the Large Diaphragm Condenser (LDC) microphone and Small Diaphragm Condeser (SDC) microphone.  The model I used for this comparison was Audio Technica AT2020 for LDC and AKG Perception P170 for SDC microphone.  Both are connected directly to XRL inputs of Zoom Q8 videocamera.
